Something About Mountains   (written 2/98)

Well the sun shines

And the wind blows

On our doorstep

And it’s Tuesday and the summer

Has floated away

Now birds with no souls

They fly today

Flat plains, they surrounded me

Mountains seem so far out of reach

Somehow I know I’ll reach up high

On top of the mountain

I am gonna lie

Rivers still flow

And call my name

And from any sky

The moon never (always) looks the same

But the stars are so faded

There’s too many lights

And I know that nature hears my cries

A part of me must die

Flat plains, they surrounded me

Mountains were so far out of reach

I know I can reach up high

On top of the mountain

Here I am gonna lie
