I Know We Can Heal It  (written October 2002)

Medicine is one thing

But drug peddling is another

I’m not buying medication

From those who sell stealth bombers

There’s a problem with labels

You’re putting words in peoples heads

And shoving pills down their throats

So their world appears dead

Only seven drug companies in the world

You pick you choose

And they’ll tell you to heal like they want you to

But shouldn’t we only be chemically altering our brain

When we have nothing else to lose?

It seems there’s more than one way

To cure these fear-based blues

Chorus

Maybe what comes from the earth

Will light our way

And bring promise

To the hope of a new day

We need some natural healing

Bring us back to our spirit

Let go of our souls

I know we can heal it

Smiling faces sunshine and a pill for all

There’s no way we’ll stand for

These shady overpriced

Chemicals

Come on own up to it already

We’ll give you a chance to come clean

Before we take back our thoughts

Take back our emotions

In the biggest protest lovefest you’ve ever seen.

Don’t you feel it in the air?

Change will lift our despair

And bring a lighter load to all

Everywhere

Give love to hate

There’s nothing left to fear

It’s all right now right now right now

right here
